A Luxury Wedding with an Edge At The Shadowbrook

The Wedding Journey

Alexa and Anthony are the best humans. I am so excited to share about their luxury wedding with an edge! They are truly yin and yang to one another but perfectly fit into the most beautiful partnership. Throughout their wedding journey I got to see this first hand in so many ways. They quite literally adopted me into their inner circle. Alexa is a confident queen who knows what she wants and Anthony is her quiet king full of love for everyone he surrounds himself with. Their wedding day was so infused with each of their personalities. It was glamorous and stylish for sure, but it was also extremely sentimental and family focused.

Bringing Luxury Wedding Vibes to the Whole Wedding Era

Alexa and I immediately hit it off when she contacted me about photographing her engagement party. After the engagement party, she reached out to me to create a very special Save the Date- a literal newspaper! It included their engagement photos, proposal story, and more sections that highlighted their loved ones. I had so much fun designing and creating this so… we did it again for the bridal shower invitations! We created a Vogue inspired magazine that invited the bridal shower guests to really get to know Alexa, her passions, and her take on her bridal era!

Throughout these projects I was really lucky to get to know Alexa’s whole family and Anthony as well. Both are from Italian, New Jersey families which… if you know you know. Family is extremely important to them as well as honoring their heritage and culture too.

Giving Luxury Some Edge with Thoughtful Details at the Shadowbrook

On the long-awaited day of the wedding, we started at the Shadowbrook with all the bridal glam and sentimental details. We highlighted the Anzalone family crest which was displayed on their black and gold invitations, the Marrow Fine ‘Til Death wedding band that inspired much of the wedding design, and other personal details passed down from family members. We also had fun bringing in the newspaper and magazine to the day with some playful moments amongst Alexa and her bridal party. Then came time for THE DRESS. And let me tell you it was the dress of all dresses and could not have been more perfectly Alexa. The main body was a fully beaded fitted style. It was complemented by an overskirt which had a never-ending train and a cathedral veil that was also beaded. The entire look gave tribute to the Madonna icon of Italian paintings. And it most definitely was giving luxury wedding with edge.

A Family of First Looks

After the dress was on we had planned a series of fun first looks! First off, Alexa came down the grand hallway of the Shadowbrook with her bridesmaids and flower grannies all lined up. One by one they each turned around as she walked the hall and each got to react to seeing her all together for the first time. Next, Alexa continued to the outdoor chapel of the venue with a first look with her brother Jake. Last but not least, dad was awaiting his daughter and this one broke me and brought on all the tears. Alexa’s whole immediate family came in at the end and said a prayer over her while group hugging it out.

A Ceremony inspired by Italian Renaissance Paintings

They decided to get married in the church where Alexa’s mother attends. It was a traditional catholic ceremony surrounded by both families coming together. The church itself was stunning with its classic cathedral elements. Afterward, we took some of the most moody, Italian Renaissance inspired wedding portraits in the church before exiting with a flower toss to head back to Shadowbrook for the rest of the evening.

An Evening of Grandeur and Edgy Glam

Once there, we took some more wedding portraits with the vintage Rolls Royce they had rented for the day outside of Shadowbrook’s luxurious wrought iron entry gate. It was GIVING glam, edge, and luxury. Anthony looked so stunning in his tux and it was such a vibe with Alexa’s dress swirling around them.

Afterward, we went inside to document the extravagant cocktail hour and the gorgeous details of their reception. For decor they had white and black florals, with gold dinnerware and tall candles adorning the tables. And when I say florals, I mean trees. They had literal floral trees as the center pieces for their tables. Their wedding cake was also bringing some edge with its tiered black and gold design very much inspired by Alexa’s Marrow Fine wedding band. As the night went on, there were so many beautiful family moments between the dances and speeches and the tears were flowing! So naturally, to lighten the air Alexa and Anthony planned a dinner show with an electric violinist and flameless fireworks. The rest of the evening was a party like no other. There was dancing galore, outfit changes, a cigar and bourbon bar, gelato for desserts and their family made wine as goodbye favors.

Truly, Alexa and Anthony made it a day to remember with luxury wedding vibes and a fantastic edge. While we were all there for them, it felt like they included every single person there into the celebrations.
