Getting Ready in an Art Gallery/Hotel with a Stunning Rooftop

I knew this movie theatre wedding would be an incredible one from the very first meeting with Miely and Chris. The first thing she told me when describing her vision was “Well we have a 90s trolls cake topper.” From that moment on, I knew we were going to make magic. Not only were all the details of this wedding so immaculate and down right fun, the venues were GIVING. The day started at The Modernist Hotel which also has an art gallery downstairs. Plus, the suite had a rooftop patio with stunning city views! The sun pouring through the windows perfectly illuminated the art gallery for their first look and made for a perfect glowing terrace for photos on the roof.

“Now Playing” A Movie Theatre Wedding Venue

After the hotel, we made a quick trip over to Bushwick to the most unique and cool wedding venue. Syndicated has a bar area that absolutely GLOWS when the afternoon sun streams in. It perfectly lit up the glittering disco ball decorations. The actual theatre where the ceremony was held also has a cozy retro vibe and it was the perfect setting for this playful wedding.

Everyone was cheering at the end of the ceremony when Miely and Chris turned for a smile and wave as their ceremony finale. Being in Bushwick, the exterior of the theatre is just as fun. With graffiti covered walls, industrial vibe streets and a neon sign above the theatre everywhere you turned was cool. I had so much fun capturing the wedding party, the family, and couple as the sun was setting behind the city streets. Moral of the story? A movie theatre wedding should definitely be more popular.

The Ultimate Disco

Rounding out the day, the energy filled reception had everyone on their feet from start to finish! Even before the reception officially started, dance partners gathered during the cocktail hour with smiles on everyone. And it only got more hype from there. From the photo booth, the amazing DJ, the congo line dancing around the bar to the cheering at the cake cutting. And did I mention it was Miely’s birthday as well?? Maybe there was an extra layer of excitement to celebrate!
