So we plan an engagement session in Chinatown, Manhattan. In this setting, we perfectly captured the personalities of Amanda and Justin. It was chic and fully embodied rebellious romance.

Golden Hour Color in Manhattan

Amanda, a self-proclaimed makeup aficionado, and Justin, a die-hard sneaker enthusiast, are the epitome of cool. Our adventure began during the golden hour, that magical time when the sun kisses everything with its warm light that makes the color of the city really pop.

With the Manhattan skyline as our backdrop, we snapped away, capturing Amanda’s glamorous smile and Justin’s laid-back charm. It was like something out of a movie.

Flash Engagement Session in Chinatown

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we traded the golden hour glow for the electric buzz of Chinatown at night. Amanda was all about those fashion-forward shots, so we dove headfirst into the world of flash photography.Amidst the colorful lanterns and bustling streets, Amanda and Justin owned the streets and every moment with style. With all the color surrounding them, their black outfits made them pop with the contrast of flash. Amongst the many laughs and cozy snuggles, they were serving LOOKS!

A Little Something Extra

To enhance the chic, cinematic feel that we were going for, I used a cinesoft filter on my lens. It gave the neon night lights and iconic lanterns a little extra glow and an overall softness to the flash photos. I’m obsessed with how this turned out and I highly recommend this filter if you’re looking for a little pizazz in your photography!

This afternoon was so much fun! We laughed, we got deeply personal, and we hugged so many times as we ran around the streets of Chinatown for this engagement session.
